  • but I'm going to actually show you the scripture.
  • 00:00:03.050 --> 00:00:04.270
  • Hell was not created for you.
  • 00:00:05.000 --> 00:00:06.220
  • Why I showed you the scripture of Isaiah 5 that shows us
  • 00:00:06.250 --> 00:00:09.110
  • that because man decided to follow Satan.
  • 00:00:09.140 --> 00:00:12.100
  • Hell had to be enlarged.
  • 00:00:12.130 --> 00:00:13.270
  • 00:00:14.000 --> 00:00:28.090
  • PASTOR ROBERT: The first week, I talked about a tough question.
  • 00:00:28.120 --> 00:00:31.000
  • The second week, some easy questions.
  • 00:00:31.030 --> 00:00:33.050
  • If you haven't heard those, go back and listen
  • 00:00:33.080 --> 00:00:35.010
  • or get the CD's.
  • 00:00:35.040 --> 00:00:36.230
  • This week I'm calling it, "A Tough Message."
  • 00:00:36.260 --> 00:00:40.070
  • Because I'm going to talk to you about Hell and it's a tough
  • 00:00:40.100 --> 00:00:43.060
  • message for me to talk about.
  • 00:00:43.090 --> 00:00:47.020
  • I believe it was also a tough message for Jesus.
  • 00:00:47.050 --> 00:00:50.080
  • But Jesus did preach about Hell.
  • 00:00:50.110 --> 00:00:52.130
  • Jesus actually preached about Hell 33 times.
  • 00:00:52.160 --> 00:00:56.020
  • He talked more about Hell then He did about Heaven.
  • 00:00:56.050 --> 00:00:58.120
  • That's pretty amazing.
  • 00:00:58.150 --> 00:00:59.280
  • And I believe He did because He didn't want anyone to go.
  • 00:01:00.030 --> 00:01:03.100
  • So, think about this, He had a three-year ministry and He
  • 00:01:03.130 --> 00:01:06.230
  • preached on Hell 33 times.
  • 00:01:06.260 --> 00:01:08.280
  • So, almost once a month He would bring a message on Hell.
  • 00:01:09.010 --> 00:01:14.040
  • You might not have wanted to attend His church because you
  • 00:01:14.070 --> 00:01:18.220
  • have heard so much.
  • 00:01:18.250 --> 00:01:19.230
  • But why did he did it -- why he do that?
  • 00:01:19.260 --> 00:01:21.170
  • He had to just been filled with compassion to keep people
  • 00:01:21.200 --> 00:01:26.260
  • from going to this difficult place.
  • 00:01:26.290 --> 00:01:29.080
  • The Bible talks about Hell 167 times, 167 times.
  • 00:01:29.110 --> 00:01:35.110
  • Yet, many Theologians, many Pastors, many denominations
  • 00:01:35.140 --> 00:01:40.050
  • are distancing themselves from Hell today and even denying
  • 00:01:40.080 --> 00:01:44.030
  • the existence of it.
  • 00:01:44.060 --> 00:01:45.160
  • And in a recent survey many people said they do not believe
  • 00:01:45.190 --> 00:01:49.120
  • in a literal Hell.
  • 00:01:49.150 --> 00:01:51.030
  • As a matter of fact, in a survey I read 35% of Baptist,
  • 00:01:51.060 --> 00:01:56.010
  • 54% of Presbyterians, 58% of Methodist,
  • 00:01:56.040 --> 00:02:00.140
  • and 60% of Episcopalians do not believe
  • 00:02:00.170 --> 00:02:04.230
  • in a literal Hell.
  • 00:02:04.260 --> 00:02:06.010
  • But the Bible talks about it 167 times and Jesus preached
  • 00:02:06.040 --> 00:02:11.050
  • 33 messages on Hell that we know of.
  • 00:02:11.080 --> 00:02:13.260
  • That we have recorded in scripture, maybe more.
  • 00:02:13.290 --> 00:02:16.080
  • In my opinion, to deny the existence of Hell is to deny
  • 00:02:16.110 --> 00:02:20.010
  • Jesus Christ and to deny the Bible because Jesus told
  • 00:02:20.040 --> 00:02:24.250
  • us about this.
  • 00:02:24.280 --> 00:02:26.160
  • There are four groups -- just to give you a little --
  • 00:02:26.190 --> 00:02:28.160
  • before we go to Luke 16.
  • 00:02:28.190 --> 00:02:29.290
  • Four groups of people if you deny the existence of Hell
  • 00:02:30.020 --> 00:02:32.190
  • you fall into one of these four groups.
  • 00:02:32.220 --> 00:02:34.160
  • The first group are Atheist.
  • 00:02:34.190 --> 00:02:36.160
  • Atheist do not believe in Hell because they do not
  • 00:02:36.190 --> 00:02:38.220
  • believe in God.
  • 00:02:38.250 --> 00:02:39.290
  • They believe that we evolve from nothing and that once
  • 00:02:40.020 --> 00:02:43.080
  • we die we cease to exist.
  • 00:02:43.110 --> 00:02:45.110
  • Now I want to make a statement here this might
  • 00:02:45.140 --> 00:02:47.120
  • shock you.
  • 00:02:47.150 --> 00:02:48.120
  • Atheist don't believe in God.
  • 00:02:48.150 --> 00:02:50.010
  • I don't believe in Atheist.
  • 00:02:50.040 --> 00:02:54.110
  • I actually believe that it's scientifically impossible
  • 00:02:54.140 --> 00:02:56.260
  • to be an Atheist.
  • 00:02:56.290 --> 00:02:58.020
  • Atheist make the statement, "There is no God."
  • 00:02:58.050 --> 00:03:00.250
  • And the reason it's scientifically impossible
  • 00:03:00.280 --> 00:03:02.230
  • to be an Atheist is because in order to make the statement,
  • 00:03:02.260 --> 00:03:05.050
  • "There is no God," you would have to possess all knowledge.
  • 00:03:05.080 --> 00:03:09.220
  • You have to know everything to be able to say emphatically,
  • 00:03:09.250 --> 00:03:11.270
  • "There is no God."
  • 00:03:12.000 --> 00:03:13.110
  • And scientist tell us the smartest human being
  • 00:03:13.140 --> 00:03:17.010
  • probably possesses 2% of all knowledge.
  • 00:03:17.040 --> 00:03:20.120
  • So, you really can't be an Atheist,
  • 00:03:20.150 --> 00:03:22.000
  • but you can be an Agnostic.
  • 00:03:22.030 --> 00:03:23.190
  • So that an Atheist and Agnostics don't believe in Hell.
  • 00:03:23.220 --> 00:03:28.070
  • Here's the second group, Annihilationist,
  • 00:03:28.100 --> 00:03:31.020
  • don't believe in Hell.
  • 00:03:31.050 --> 00:03:32.120
  • Now here's what they believe.
  • 00:03:32.150 --> 00:03:33.230
  • They believe that believers go to Heaven, but unbelievers
  • 00:03:33.260 --> 00:03:35.240
  • are annihilated.
  • 00:03:35.270 --> 00:03:37.210
  • And some even believe that they are annihilated in Hell.
  • 00:03:37.240 --> 00:03:39.260
  • They use Matthew 10:28 which says, "Fear him who can destroy
  • 00:03:39.290 --> 00:03:43.090
  • both body and soul in Hell."
  • 00:03:43.120 --> 00:03:45.180
  • Destroy they use the word, "Destroy," for their
  • 00:03:45.210 --> 00:03:47.220
  • annihilationist theory.
  • 00:03:47.250 --> 00:03:50.070
  • Now let me tell you why that's wrong.
  • 00:03:50.100 --> 00:03:52.010
  • You can't take your interpretation of one verse
  • 00:03:52.040 --> 00:03:55.220
  • and build a doctrine on it.
  • 00:03:55.250 --> 00:03:57.180
  • You have to take the whole scripture and the whole
  • 00:03:57.210 --> 00:03:59.150
  • scripture teaches us of Hell.
  • 00:03:59.180 --> 00:04:01.190
  • So, annihilationist would not be a scriptural
  • 00:04:01.220 --> 00:04:03.260
  • viewpoint either.
  • 00:04:03.290 --> 00:04:05.090
  • The other group that -- the third group
  • 00:04:05.120 --> 00:04:08.100
  • are ultimate reconciliationist.
  • 00:04:08.130 --> 00:04:11.070
  • Ultimate reconciliationist believe that ultimately
  • 00:04:11.100 --> 00:04:15.110
  • everyone will be reconciled to God.
  • 00:04:15.140 --> 00:04:17.070
  • That people do go to Hell, but they only go to Hell
  • 00:04:17.100 --> 00:04:20.120
  • dependent upon how bad they were on Earth.
  • 00:04:20.150 --> 00:04:22.280
  • In other words, if you were very bad you would spend
  • 00:04:23.010 --> 00:04:24.170
  • more time.
  • 00:04:24.200 --> 00:04:25.180
  • That Hell is a purifying place that purifies us
  • 00:04:25.210 --> 00:04:29.120
  • in to be able to go to Heaven.
  • 00:04:29.150 --> 00:04:30.160
  • They actually believe that Satan would ultimately
  • 00:04:30.190 --> 00:04:33.190
  • be reconciled to God.
  • 00:04:33.220 --> 00:04:35.290
  • And then the fourth group are Universalists.
  • 00:04:36.020 --> 00:04:39.010
  • They're actually many popular preachers today
  • 00:04:39.040 --> 00:04:42.190
  • that are becoming Universalists because they are misunderstand,
  • 00:04:42.220 --> 00:04:46.160
  • and they've taken that twisted question that I answered first,
  • 00:04:46.190 --> 00:04:48.270
  • "How could a loving God send someone to Hell?"
  • 00:04:49.000 --> 00:04:51.070
  • And I've already answered that question.
  • 00:04:51.100 --> 00:04:53.070
  • But they take that and say, "Because of that when Jesus
  • 00:04:53.100 --> 00:04:56.050
  • died on the cross He paid the price for everyone's sin," --
  • 00:04:56.080 --> 00:04:58.290
  • which He did, "but you still have a choice."
  • 00:04:59.020 --> 00:05:01.080
  • They take free will completely out of the equation
  • 00:05:01.110 --> 00:05:03.120
  • and everyone is going to go to Heaven.
  • 00:05:03.150 --> 00:05:05.260
  • Adolf Hitler will go to Heaven.
  • 00:05:05.290 --> 00:05:08.290
  • The terrorists will go to Heaven.
  • 00:05:09.020 --> 00:05:10.150
  • As a matter of fact, if you take Universalism to its
  • 00:05:10.180 --> 00:05:12.210
  • 'nth degree here's an analogy about that.
  • 00:05:12.240 --> 00:05:17.060
  • The terrorist of 9/11 when they hit those buildings
  • 00:05:17.090 --> 00:05:21.090
  • the believers on the plane and terrorists were immediately
  • 00:05:21.120 --> 00:05:23.210
  • in the presence of God.
  • 00:05:23.240 --> 00:05:25.070
  • That's what Universalism say.
  • 00:05:25.100 --> 00:05:26.270
  • And, you know, I think that's foolishness.
  • 00:05:27.000 --> 00:05:29.180
  • So, Luke 16 Jesus tells us about Hell.
  • 00:05:29.210 --> 00:05:32.150
  • I need to tell you something about this passage
  • 00:05:32.180 --> 00:05:34.110
  • before we read it.
  • 00:05:34.140 --> 00:05:35.220
  • And that is many people don't understand this,
  • 00:05:35.250 --> 00:05:37.130
  • this is a true story.
  • 00:05:37.160 --> 00:05:39.080
  • This is true what Jesus tell us.
  • 00:05:39.110 --> 00:05:40.250
  • Here are some reasons why.
  • 00:05:40.280 --> 00:05:42.190
  • It doesn't say -- and He spoke this parable to them.
  • 00:05:42.220 --> 00:05:45.180
  • And Luke 16 talks about different parables and even
  • 00:05:45.210 --> 00:05:51.170
  • has a parable at the beginning of the chapter.
  • 00:05:51.200 --> 00:05:53.290
  • But by the time you get here it's not a parable
  • 00:05:54.020 --> 00:05:55.230
  • 'cause it does not -- that he spoke this parable.
  • 00:05:55.260 --> 00:05:57.280
  • Also, it's not a simile that Jesus isn't saying,
  • 00:05:58.010 --> 00:06:02.030
  • "It is like, it is like, it is like." He is telling us a true
  • 00:06:02.060 --> 00:06:05.080
  • story and we know it's true because of a couple of things.
  • 00:06:05.110 --> 00:06:08.160
  • And first of all, he says, "There was a certain rich man."
  • 00:06:08.190 --> 00:06:11.180
  • This word "Certain" means individual or specific.
  • 00:06:11.210 --> 00:06:15.170
  • There was an individual, specific, rich man I'm telling
  • 00:06:15.200 --> 00:06:18.110
  • you about right now.
  • 00:06:18.140 --> 00:06:19.180
  • And then He says, "There was a certain beggar," --
  • 00:06:19.210 --> 00:06:21.200
  • now listen to what He says, "Named Lazarus."
  • 00:06:21.230 --> 00:06:26.230
  • Okay, Jesus wouldn't have made up a name.
  • 00:06:26.260 --> 00:06:28.160
  • Now let me explain one other thing two because I got some
  • 00:06:28.190 --> 00:06:30.250
  • questions last night afterwards.
  • 00:06:30.280 --> 00:06:32.170
  • This is not the same Lazarus that he raised from the dead.
  • 00:06:32.200 --> 00:06:35.010
  • Okay?
  • 00:06:35.040 --> 00:06:36.120
  • It's a common name, like, John, but it's not the same person.
  • 00:06:36.150 --> 00:06:39.010
  • Okay?
  • 00:06:39.040 --> 00:06:39.230
  • So, this is another person.
  • 00:06:39.260 --> 00:06:41.020
  • All right let's read the story.
  • 00:06:41.050 --> 00:06:42.170
  • Luke 16:19: "There was certain rich man who was clothed
  • 00:06:42.200 --> 00:06:48.120
  • in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day.
  • 00:06:48.150 --> 00:06:53.160
  • But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus full
  • 00:06:53.190 --> 00:06:58.240
  • of sores who was laid at his gate.
  • 00:06:58.270 --> 00:07:01.210
  • Desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from
  • 00:07:01.240 --> 00:07:04.080
  • the rich man's table.
  • 00:07:04.110 --> 00:07:05.240
  • Moreover, the dogs came and licked his sores.
  • 00:07:05.270 --> 00:07:08.150
  • And so, it was that the beggar died and was carried
  • 00:07:08.180 --> 00:07:11.100
  • by the angels," now watch this carefully.
  • 00:07:11.130 --> 00:07:13.180
  • This is Jesus talking, "to Abraham's bosom."
  • 00:07:13.210 --> 00:07:16.250
  • okay let's talk just for a moment.
  • 00:07:16.280 --> 00:07:18.150
  • Was Abraham a real person?
  • 00:07:18.180 --> 00:07:20.280
  • Okay, he's talking about real people.
  • 00:07:21.010 --> 00:07:22.220
  • "The rich man also died and was buried and being
  • 00:07:22.250 --> 00:07:26.000
  • in torment," I want you to remember the word, "Torment"
  • 00:07:26.030 --> 00:07:30.000
  • because a variation of that word is in this passage
  • 00:07:30.030 --> 00:07:32.270
  • four times.
  • 00:07:33.000 --> 00:07:34.010
  • That's -- this is the first reference, okay.
  • 00:07:34.040 --> 00:07:35.190
  • "Being in torment in Hades," and Hades is the Greek word
  • 00:07:35.220 --> 00:07:39.150
  • for Hell.
  • 00:07:39.180 --> 00:07:40.200
  • Okay, so this is Hell.
  • 00:07:40.230 --> 00:07:41.260
  • They just used the Greek word there.
  • 00:07:41.290 --> 00:07:43.190
  • "He lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham," a real person,
  • 00:07:43.220 --> 00:07:47.130
  • afar off, "and Lazarus," a real person,
  • 00:07:47.160 --> 00:07:50.140
  • "in his bosom.
  • 00:07:50.170 --> 00:07:51.230
  • Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham have mercy
  • 00:07:51.260 --> 00:07:53.280
  • on me and send Lazarus that he may get the tip of his finger
  • 00:07:54.010 --> 00:07:57.140
  • in water and cool my tongue for I am tormented.'"
  • 00:07:57.170 --> 00:08:00.260
  • there's the second time we see a variation of that word,
  • 00:08:00.290 --> 00:08:03.050
  • "in this flame." remember the word "Flame"
  • 00:08:03.080 --> 00:08:06.100
  • this is Jesus talking now.
  • 00:08:06.130 --> 00:08:07.240
  • He describes Hell as a place of torment and flame.
  • 00:08:07.270 --> 00:08:11.030
  • "But Abraham said, 'Son remember that in your lifetime
  • 00:08:11.060 --> 00:08:14.010
  • you received good things and likewise Lazarus evil things,
  • 00:08:14.040 --> 00:08:17.070
  • but now he is comforted, and you are tormented,"
  • 00:08:17.100 --> 00:08:21.190
  • third time we see the variation of that word.
  • 00:08:21.220 --> 00:08:24.170
  • And besides all this between us and you there's a great
  • 00:08:24.200 --> 00:08:27.040
  • gulf fixed so that those who would want to pass
  • 00:08:27.070 --> 00:08:29.110
  • from here to you cannot.
  • 00:08:29.140 --> 00:08:32.000
  • Nor, can those from there pass to us.
  • 00:08:32.030 --> 00:08:34.140
  • Then he said, "I beg you therefore father that you would
  • 00:08:34.170 --> 00:08:36.200
  • send him to my father's house for I have five brothers
  • 00:08:36.230 --> 00:08:40.030
  • that he may testify to them less they also come to this place
  • 00:08:40.060 --> 00:08:44.040
  • of torment." fourth time.
  • 00:08:44.070 --> 00:08:46.270
  • "Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and Prophets
  • 00:08:47.000 --> 00:08:50.010
  • let them hear them.
  • 00:08:50.040 --> 00:08:51.190
  • And he said, 'No, father Abraham, but if one goes to them
  • 00:08:51.220 --> 00:08:54.020
  • from the dead they will repent." but he said to him:
  • 00:08:54.050 --> 00:08:57.050
  • "If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets neither
  • 00:08:57.080 --> 00:09:00.110
  • will they be persuaded the one rise from the dead."
  • 00:09:00.140 --> 00:09:04.100
  • Yeah, I first -- a few things I want to tell you
  • 00:09:04.130 --> 00:09:06.010
  • about this.
  • 00:09:06.040 --> 00:09:06.230
  • Jesus is talking.
  • 00:09:06.260 --> 00:09:08.120
  • And the first thing I want you to know is this ends all
  • 00:09:08.150 --> 00:09:10.230
  • debate on the existence of Hell.
  • 00:09:10.260 --> 00:09:12.260
  • Because Jesus is referring to a specific man and He says
  • 00:09:12.290 --> 00:09:16.040
  • in Verse 23: "In Hell.
  • 00:09:16.070 --> 00:09:18.130
  • In Hell."
  • 00:09:18.160 --> 00:09:19.050
  • He's referring to a person.
  • 00:09:19.080 --> 00:09:20.130
  • And Jesus says, "He's in Hell."
  • 00:09:20.160 --> 00:09:22.130
  • This also ends all debate on whether it's a place of fire.
  • 00:09:22.160 --> 00:09:25.170
  • Because Jesus says, "In this flame."
  • 00:09:25.200 --> 00:09:29.020
  • Now listen to me carefully.
  • 00:09:29.050 --> 00:09:30.060
  • 32 times the New Testament refers to Hell as fire --
  • 00:09:30.090 --> 00:09:34.060
  • a place of fire.
  • 00:09:34.090 --> 00:09:35.090
  • Unquenchable, everlasting, eternal fire.
  • 00:09:35.120 --> 00:09:41.080
  • Lake of, flame of, furnace of, okay.
  • 00:09:41.110 --> 00:09:44.220
  • And 19 times Jesus himself refers to Hell as fire.
  • 00:09:44.250 --> 00:09:49.200
  • And this also ends all debate on whether it's a place
  • 00:09:49.230 --> 00:09:52.140
  • of torment or not because we have the word --
  • 00:09:52.170 --> 00:09:54.040
  • or variation of the word, "Torment" four times.
  • 00:09:54.070 --> 00:09:56.270
  • The Greek word here for torment has three meanings.
  • 00:09:57.000 --> 00:10:00.070
  • It would be like when you look up a word in Webster's
  • 00:10:00.100 --> 00:10:02.050
  • dictionary and it has two or three different meanings.
  • 00:10:02.080 --> 00:10:05.010
  • That's what the Greek word here --
  • 00:10:05.040 --> 00:10:06.100
  • it has three meanings.
  • 00:10:06.130 --> 00:10:07.150
  • The first is acute pain from debilitating disease.
  • 00:10:07.180 --> 00:10:12.240
  • Acute pain from debilitating disease.
  • 00:10:12.270 --> 00:10:15.270
  • The second is actually the name of a -- a rack of torture
  • 00:10:16.000 --> 00:10:20.200
  • that they invented, and they gave it this name --
  • 00:10:20.230 --> 00:10:23.160
  • the name that is translated torment here.
  • 00:10:23.190 --> 00:10:25.180
  • That's what they called it.
  • 00:10:25.210 --> 00:10:26.270
  • It was a rack that had sharp objects that they would stretch
  • 00:10:27.000 --> 00:10:30.020
  • a body on and continue to stretch it around it.
  • 00:10:30.050 --> 00:10:32.290
  • Until eventually the sharp objects would pierce the body
  • 00:10:33.020 --> 00:10:35.150
  • and the person would die from the piercings.
  • 00:10:35.180 --> 00:10:37.210
  • And the third, is describing fire that is hot enough
  • 00:10:37.240 --> 00:10:42.110
  • to melt metals.
  • 00:10:42.140 --> 00:10:44.270
  • So, I want you to understand these three definitions
  • 00:10:45.000 --> 00:10:47.130
  • of this word torture are acute pain, a rack of torture,
  • 00:10:47.160 --> 00:10:52.000
  • and intense fire.
  • 00:10:52.030 --> 00:10:53.150
  • That's the word Jesus used.
  • 00:10:53.180 --> 00:10:54.220
  • So, according to this that Jesus tells us we can discern
  • 00:10:54.250 --> 00:10:59.080
  • a few things about what happens to a person
  • 00:10:59.110 --> 00:11:02.140
  • when he goes to Hell.
  • 00:11:02.170 --> 00:11:03.240
  • So, I want to give you three things that happens to a person
  • 00:11:03.270 --> 00:11:06.140
  • when he goes to Hell.
  • 00:11:06.170 --> 00:11:07.220
  • Here's number one, he desires comfort.
  • 00:11:07.250 --> 00:11:10.240
  • He desires comfort.
  • 00:11:10.270 --> 00:11:12.070
  • Send Lazarus said, "He may dip the tip of his finger
  • 00:11:12.100 --> 00:11:15.010
  • in water.
  • 00:11:15.040 --> 00:11:16.110
  • That I may cool my tongue for I am tormented in this flame."
  • 00:11:16.140 --> 00:11:21.020
  • I want you to notice that he didn't say,
  • 00:11:21.050 --> 00:11:22.260
  • "Could I have a bucket of water?
  • 00:11:22.290 --> 00:11:24.080
  • Or could I have a cup of water?"
  • 00:11:24.110 --> 00:11:26.020
  • And he didn't even say that he might dip his finger.
  • 00:11:26.050 --> 00:11:29.280
  • He said, "That he might dip the tip of his finger in water
  • 00:11:30.010 --> 00:11:34.120
  • and cool my tongue." Remember I told you this a few
  • 00:11:34.150 --> 00:11:37.060
  • weeks ago, but I'm going to actually show you
  • 00:11:37.090 --> 00:11:39.000
  • the scripture, "Hell was not created for you.
  • 00:11:39.030 --> 00:11:42.180
  • Hell was not created for you."
  • 00:11:42.210 --> 00:11:44.050
  • Why I showed you the scripture
  • 00:11:44.080 --> 00:11:45.240
  • of Isaiah 5 that shows us that because man decided to follow
  • 00:11:45.270 --> 00:11:49.130
  • Satan, Hell had to be enlarged.
  • 00:11:49.160 --> 00:11:51.280
  • It was enlarged by necessity.
  • 00:11:52.010 --> 00:11:53.240
  • Not by design.
  • 00:11:53.270 --> 00:11:55.030
  • But notice -- here's the scripture that shows you Hell
  • 00:11:55.060 --> 00:11:57.130
  • was not prepared for you.
  • 00:11:57.160 --> 00:11:58.240
  • Matthew 25:41: "Then you will also say to those
  • 00:11:58.270 --> 00:12:01.210
  • on the left-hand depart from me you cursed into
  • 00:12:01.240 --> 00:12:04.240
  • the everlasting," notice again it's not -- this blows
  • 00:12:04.270 --> 00:12:07.150
  • away Annihilationist theory that it's only a brief time,
  • 00:12:07.180 --> 00:12:10.160
  • "fire," fire, it is fire, "Watched prepared for the Devil
  • 00:12:10.190 --> 00:12:15.290
  • and his angels." And that's Jesus talking.
  • 00:12:16.020 --> 00:12:18.130
  • Okay, "Hell was not prepared for you."
  • 00:12:18.160 --> 00:12:21.000
  • Now I want to make a statement.
  • 00:12:21.030 --> 00:12:21.280
  • I want you to remember this.
  • 00:12:22.010 --> 00:12:23.050
  • Jesus did not prepare Hell for you, but He did prepare
  • 00:12:23.080 --> 00:12:26.210
  • Heaven for you.
  • 00:12:26.240 --> 00:12:29.030
  • John 14, he said, "I'm going to prepare a place for you."
  • 00:12:29.060 --> 00:12:33.160
  • Isn't that a great statement?
  • 00:12:33.190 --> 00:12:34.220
  • He did not prepare Hell for you.
  • 00:12:34.250 --> 00:12:36.100
  • He prepared Heaven for you.
  • 00:12:36.130 --> 00:12:37.260
  • So, number one a man desires comfort.
  • 00:12:37.290 --> 00:12:40.090
  • Number two, he expresses concern.
  • 00:12:40.120 --> 00:12:43.050
  • He immediately says, "Please send him to my brothers.
  • 00:12:43.080 --> 00:12:47.160
  • My father's house.
  • 00:12:47.190 --> 00:12:48.180
  • I have five brothers." Okay, every person will
  • 00:12:48.210 --> 00:12:50.260
  • have this thought at some point.
  • 00:12:50.290 --> 00:12:52.020
  • I hope my kids don't come here.
  • 00:12:52.050 --> 00:12:54.260
  • I hope my spouse doesn't come here.
  • 00:12:54.290 --> 00:12:57.080
  • And they might even have a thought like this.
  • 00:12:57.110 --> 00:12:59.180
  • Maybe, maybe -- and they might bring --
  • 00:12:59.210 --> 00:13:02.170
  • they'll not remember that you go to church.
  • 00:13:02.200 --> 00:13:05.070
  • Or that you're a believer.
  • 00:13:05.100 --> 00:13:06.130
  • And so, they might think, "Well maybe at Christmas
  • 00:13:06.160 --> 00:13:10.150
  • I know Bill is a believer.
  • 00:13:10.180 --> 00:13:12.090
  • I know Mary is a believer.
  • 00:13:12.120 --> 00:13:13.080
  • I know Sue is a believer.
  • 00:13:13.110 --> 00:13:14.140
  • I know Jim is a believer.
  • 00:13:14.170 --> 00:13:16.000
  • Maybe at Christmas Sue will tell my children about
  • 00:13:16.030 --> 00:13:20.130
  • this place."
  • 00:13:20.160 --> 00:13:21.210
  • And then I wonder, I wonder if he will have this thought,
  • 00:13:21.240 --> 00:13:26.050
  • "She probably won't tell my children because
  • 00:13:26.080 --> 00:13:29.270
  • she didn't tell me."
  • 00:13:30.000 --> 00:13:33.050
  • I remember arguments about who I voted for,
  • 00:13:33.080 --> 00:13:37.010
  • but I don't remember her ever telling me that this
  • 00:13:37.040 --> 00:13:39.170
  • was where I would go and that it was easy to avoid this place.
  • 00:13:39.200 --> 00:13:45.180
  • That if I would simply give control of my life to Jesus
  • 00:13:45.210 --> 00:13:48.140
  • Christ I could have avoided this place.
  • 00:13:48.170 --> 00:13:50.280
  • So, every person desires comfort, expresses concern,
  • 00:13:51.010 --> 00:13:55.280
  • and here's number three, he seeks consolation.
  • 00:13:56.010 --> 00:13:59.100
  • He seeks consolation.
  • 00:13:59.130 --> 00:14:00.180
  • Here's what he said -- he tries to tell himself
  • 00:14:00.210 --> 00:14:02.210
  • if someone would go from the dead.
  • 00:14:02.240 --> 00:14:05.110
  • If someone would rise from the dead and tell them maybe
  • 00:14:05.140 --> 00:14:10.050
  • they would believe.
  • 00:14:10.080 --> 00:14:11.060
  • I'm sure they would believe.
  • 00:14:11.090 --> 00:14:12.190
  • Abraham says this, "Listen they have Moses and the Prophets."
  • 00:14:12.220 --> 00:14:15.290
  • Now you need to understand what Moses
  • 00:14:16.020 --> 00:14:17.110
  • and the Prophets means in the Bible.
  • 00:14:17.140 --> 00:14:19.010
  • Moses wrote the first five books of the Old Testament.
  • 00:14:19.040 --> 00:14:21.200
  • The Prophets wrote the other books.
  • 00:14:21.230 --> 00:14:23.120
  • We call them the major and minor Prophets.
  • 00:14:23.150 --> 00:14:25.110
  • It's the way we would divide
  • 00:14:25.140 --> 00:14:27.000
  • the Old Testament theologically.
  • 00:14:27.030 --> 00:14:30.150
  • And understand at this point there's no New Testament.
  • 00:14:30.180 --> 00:14:34.170
  • So, when they say -- when he says, "If they don't believe
  • 00:14:34.200 --> 00:14:36.250
  • Moses on the Prophets," he's referring to the Bible.
  • 00:14:36.280 --> 00:14:39.050
  • He's saying, "If they won't believe the Bible," and listen
  • 00:14:39.080 --> 00:14:41.060
  • to what he says, "If they won't believe the Bible they won't
  • 00:14:41.090 --> 00:14:43.210
  • believe even if one were to rise from the grave."
  • 00:14:43.240 --> 00:14:48.180
  • Listen carefully, Jesus did rise from the grave.
  • 00:14:48.210 --> 00:14:52.010
  • That's a direct reference.
  • 00:14:52.040 --> 00:14:53.200
  • He did rise from the grave.
  • 00:14:53.230 --> 00:14:55.000
  • So, if they don't believe the Bible they wouldn't believe
  • 00:14:55.030 --> 00:14:57.210
  • even if one were to rise from the grave.
  • 00:14:57.240 --> 00:14:59.220
  • And He did.
  • 00:14:59.250 --> 00:15:00.290
  • Now this story is describing Hell before
  • 00:15:01.020 --> 00:15:04.080
  • the resurrection of Christ.
  • 00:15:04.110 --> 00:15:06.040
  • You need to understand that every person that died before
  • 00:15:06.070 --> 00:15:08.110
  • the resurrection of Christ went to a place of "Waiting".
  • 00:15:08.140 --> 00:15:11.140
  • There were two compartments with a chasm between.
  • 00:15:11.170 --> 00:15:14.270
  • One was Hell where people were tormented.
  • 00:15:15.000 --> 00:15:18.180
  • The other though, was Abraham's bosom is what it was called.
  • 00:15:18.210 --> 00:15:21.160
  • It was a place of waiting for Old Testament Saints.
  • 00:15:21.190 --> 00:15:24.140
  • And the Bible says that before Jesus ascended into
  • 00:15:24.170 --> 00:15:27.010
  • Heaven, he descended into the lower parts and led all
  • 00:15:27.040 --> 00:15:30.180
  • of those Old Testament Saints to Paradise.
  • 00:15:30.210 --> 00:15:32.210
  • Remember He said, "Even to the thief today you will
  • 00:15:32.240 --> 00:15:35.020
  • be with me in Paradise."
  • 00:15:35.050 --> 00:15:36.140
  • Okay, so He leads them out of there.
  • 00:15:36.170 --> 00:15:38.210
  • So, this is talking about it before the resurrection
  • 00:15:38.240 --> 00:15:40.130
  • of Christ.
  • 00:15:40.160 --> 00:15:41.180
  • There is also a future Hell after the second coming.
  • 00:15:41.210 --> 00:15:45.180
  • And the Bible tell us some things about future Hell
  • 00:15:45.210 --> 00:15:48.190
  • that you need to understand.
  • 00:15:48.220 --> 00:15:50.280
  • I'm going to tell you some things that will help you
  • 00:15:51.010 --> 00:15:53.000
  • to understand what eternal Hell will be like.
  • 00:15:53.030 --> 00:15:56.040
  • And I'll give you the scripture to prove it to
  • 00:15:56.070 --> 00:15:57.160
  • you, okay.
  • 00:15:57.190 --> 00:15:58.240
  • First of all, there are two physical properties on Earth
  • 00:15:58.270 --> 00:16:03.040
  • that keep us mentally stable.
  • 00:16:03.070 --> 00:16:05.160
  • All right.
  • 00:16:05.190 --> 00:16:06.210
  • Two physical properties that keep us mentally stable.
  • 00:16:06.240 --> 00:16:09.180
  • This a scientific fact.
  • 00:16:09.210 --> 00:16:10.260
  • Light and solid.
  • 00:16:10.290 --> 00:16:12.200
  • Light and solid.
  • 00:16:12.230 --> 00:16:14.010
  • Light helps us to gain our bearings.
  • 00:16:14.040 --> 00:16:16.180
  • If we can just see where we're going, what we're doing.
  • 00:16:16.210 --> 00:16:19.290
  • Even blind people many times can see light and dark because
  • 00:16:20.020 --> 00:16:24.000
  • when the light turns on in the room many times
  • 00:16:24.030 --> 00:16:26.030
  • and keeps them stable.
  • 00:16:26.060 --> 00:16:27.250
  • Please understand that light is not in Hell.
  • 00:16:27.280 --> 00:16:31.150
  • The Bible describes Hell as a place of utter darkness
  • 00:16:31.180 --> 00:16:34.190
  • or outer darkness.
  • 00:16:34.220 --> 00:16:35.260
  • Matthew 8 describes Hell: "Complete total darkness."
  • 00:16:35.290 --> 00:16:39.040
  • As a matter of fact, the Greek word means blackness.
  • 00:16:39.070 --> 00:16:42.110
  • Total darkness.
  • 00:16:42.140 --> 00:16:43.180
  • Please understand you will never -- listen Satan has so
  • 00:16:43.210 --> 00:16:45.250
  • lied that Hell is going to be some big party.
  • 00:16:45.280 --> 00:16:48.010
  • You'll never see anyone.
  • 00:16:48.040 --> 00:16:50.070
  • You will never see another person.
  • 00:16:50.100 --> 00:16:51.220
  • And you'll never talk to them.
  • 00:16:51.250 --> 00:16:52.280
  • The reason he did in this story -- remember this
  • 00:16:53.010 --> 00:16:54.230
  • is before the resurrection.
  • 00:16:54.260 --> 00:16:56.030
  • This is not eternal Hell.
  • 00:16:56.060 --> 00:16:57.160
  • You will never see or talk to any other person.
  • 00:16:57.190 --> 00:17:00.140
  • So, there's no light in Hell.
  • 00:17:00.170 --> 00:17:02.150
  • The reason there's light in Heaven -- Revelation 21 tell us:
  • 00:17:02.180 --> 00:17:05.240
  • "That there's no sun in Heaven", Did you know?
  • 00:17:05.270 --> 00:17:08.010
  • There's no sun because the lamb is the light.
  • 00:17:08.040 --> 00:17:10.150
  • The reason there's no light in Hell is because God takes
  • 00:17:10.180 --> 00:17:13.040
  • His presence from Hell.
  • 00:17:13.070 --> 00:17:14.220
  • So, there's no light.
  • 00:17:14.250 --> 00:17:16.010
  • Here's the second thing, solid, in other words being
  • 00:17:16.040 --> 00:17:18.160
  • able to hold something.
  • 00:17:18.190 --> 00:17:19.220
  • Grab something.
  • 00:17:19.250 --> 00:17:20.230
  • Keeps us mentally stable on this Earth.
  • 00:17:20.260 --> 00:17:23.180
  • Being able to sit down, or walk, or touch something.
  • 00:17:23.210 --> 00:17:26.090
  • Hell is described Revelation 9:11.17.20.
  • 00:17:26.120 --> 00:17:31.150
  • Okay Revelation 9:11.17.20 tell us that:
  • 00:17:31.180 --> 00:17:35.230
  • "Hell is a bottomless pit.
  • 00:17:35.260 --> 00:17:39.060
  • You will never touch anything.
  • 00:17:39.090 --> 00:17:41.140
  • You will never sit down.
  • 00:17:41.170 --> 00:17:42.230
  • You will never stand.
  • 00:17:42.260 --> 00:17:44.040
  • No matter how hard you lunge, you will never be able
  • 00:17:44.070 --> 00:17:47.160
  • to touch anything else."
  • 00:17:47.190 --> 00:17:49.140
  • Those two physical properties are not in Hell.
  • 00:17:49.170 --> 00:17:51.280
  • They keep us mentally stable.
  • 00:17:52.010 --> 00:17:54.000
  • There are two emotional properties that keep us
  • 00:17:54.030 --> 00:17:57.140
  • emotionally stable on this Earth.
  • 00:17:57.170 --> 00:17:59.180
  • Rest and hope.
  • 00:17:59.210 --> 00:18:01.080
  • And I know many of you think rest is a physical property,
  • 00:18:01.110 --> 00:18:04.060
  • which it is, but it's also an emotional property
  • 00:18:04.090 --> 00:18:08.020
  • because rest keeps us emotionally stable.
  • 00:18:08.050 --> 00:18:10.060
  • Think about how grumpy you get when you get tired.
  • 00:18:10.090 --> 00:18:14.100
  • We have a little saying in my house.
  • 00:18:14.130 --> 00:18:15.210
  • My wife will say to me, "You need a nap."
  • 00:18:15.240 --> 00:18:20.070
  • And she says that to her grandkids as well.
  • 00:18:20.100 --> 00:18:21.290
  • And the grandkids and I have to go take a nap.
  • 00:18:22.020 --> 00:18:24.120
  • So -- when we get tired we begin to lose it emotionally.
  • 00:18:24.150 --> 00:18:31.090
  • And think about if you've lost a person close to you.
  • 00:18:31.120 --> 00:18:34.170
  • How tired you are and people around you will say to you,
  • 00:18:34.200 --> 00:18:37.220
  • "You need to get some rest.
  • 00:18:37.250 --> 00:18:39.120
  • You need to get some rest."
  • 00:18:39.150 --> 00:18:41.010
  • And we know on this Earth if we can just rest for sometimes
  • 00:18:41.040 --> 00:18:44.260
  • just a few moments then we can handle what we're
  • 00:18:44.290 --> 00:18:48.040
  • going through emotionally.
  • 00:18:48.070 --> 00:18:50.010
  • Revelations 14:11 says, "On the smoke of their torment
  • 00:18:50.040 --> 00:18:53.160
  • ascends forever and ever and they have no rest.
  • 00:18:53.190 --> 00:18:58.000
  • Day or night."
  • 00:18:58.030 --> 00:18:59.200
  • No rest.
  • 00:18:59.230 --> 00:19:01.010
  • So, there's no rest.
  • 00:19:01.040 --> 00:19:02.060
  • And the second emotionally property that is not
  • 00:19:02.090 --> 00:19:03.210
  • in Hell is hope.
  • 00:19:03.240 --> 00:19:06.130
  • There's no hope.
  • 00:19:06.160 --> 00:19:07.280
  • On this Earth we always have hope that it can get better.
  • 00:19:08.010 --> 00:19:11.150
  • Do you realize that a person who commits suicide is a person
  • 00:19:11.180 --> 00:19:15.150
  • whom Satan has convinced that something is true on Earth
  • 00:19:15.180 --> 00:19:19.130
  • that is actually true in Hell?
  • 00:19:19.160 --> 00:19:22.100
  • He's convinced that person that you have no hope.
  • 00:19:22.130 --> 00:19:24.150
  • And on Earth you always have hope because you're alive
  • 00:19:24.180 --> 00:19:26.290
  • and you can turn to God.
  • 00:19:27.020 --> 00:19:28.160
  • But in Hell there's no hope.
  • 00:19:28.190 --> 00:19:30.230
  • Every person who goes to Hell will at some point have
  • 00:19:30.260 --> 00:19:34.040
  • a thought something like this: "When I have been here
  • 00:19:34.070 --> 00:19:39.010
  • 10.000 centuries I will not have one less second to be
  • 00:19:39.040 --> 00:19:49.190
  • in this place because Hell is forever."
  • 00:19:49.220 --> 00:19:53.220
  • And there's one thing I want to tell you about Hell that comes
  • 00:19:53.250 --> 00:19:56.280
  • directly from Jesus the way He described it.
  • 00:19:57.010 --> 00:19:59.160
  • Jesus used a word to describe Hell that no person
  • 00:19:59.190 --> 00:20:02.230
  • had ever used.
  • 00:20:02.260 --> 00:20:04.120
  • And the Jewish people understood what he was talking about.
  • 00:20:04.150 --> 00:20:07.050
  • He used the "Gehenna".
  • 00:20:07.080 --> 00:20:09.170
  • Gehenna means the valley of Henna.
  • 00:20:09.200 --> 00:20:14.060
  • It is a valley that is south of the old city Jerusalem.
  • 00:20:14.090 --> 00:20:17.000
  • If you are in the King David citadel you can see
  • 00:20:17.030 --> 00:20:20.010
  • the old city and the North, you see two valleys.
  • 00:20:20.040 --> 00:20:25.040
  • The North valley and the South that actually
  • 00:20:25.070 --> 00:20:26.230
  • come together, up at Western side of the city right in front
  • 00:20:26.260 --> 00:20:29.290
  • of the Western wall.
  • 00:20:30.020 --> 00:20:31.220
  • That valley on the Southside of Jerusalem is called Gehenna.
  • 00:20:31.250 --> 00:20:36.060
  • That valley there was always a continual fire in that valley.
  • 00:20:36.090 --> 00:20:40.260
  • They would burn the refuse from the city.
  • 00:20:40.290 --> 00:20:44.080
  • But when they went a drought season when poor people
  • 00:20:44.110 --> 00:20:48.170
  • would die and did not have enough money to be buried
  • 00:20:48.200 --> 00:20:52.050
  • they began burning the bodies of poor people in that valley.
  • 00:20:52.080 --> 00:20:59.070
  • So, you could smell flesh burning.
  • 00:20:59.100 --> 00:21:03.190
  • But there's something else that happened.
  • 00:21:03.220 --> 00:21:05.120
  • When they were taken out of the land -- the captivity
  • 00:21:05.150 --> 00:21:07.090
  • they learned of Babylonian and Chaldean practice
  • 00:21:07.120 --> 00:21:11.200
  • and that was offering their children to the god of Molech.
  • 00:21:11.230 --> 00:21:16.150
  • And we know, the Bible tells us specifically two kings
  • 00:21:16.180 --> 00:21:19.220
  • did this.
  • 00:21:19.250 --> 00:21:20.220
  • Manasseh and Ahab offered their children,
  • 00:21:20.250 --> 00:21:24.060
  • burned their children in the valley of Henna.
  • 00:21:24.090 --> 00:21:28.240
  • And I told you it's a tough message.
  • 00:21:28.270 --> 00:21:30.190
  • What I'm about to tell you is very difficult.
  • 00:21:30.220 --> 00:21:34.210
  • They made their children walk into the fire alive.
  • 00:21:34.240 --> 00:21:40.060
  • And they burned them alive.
  • 00:21:40.090 --> 00:21:42.120
  • Sometimes they even used whips to drive them into the fire.
  • 00:21:42.150 --> 00:21:48.050
  • And Jesus used a phrase that every Jewish person
  • 00:21:48.080 --> 00:21:51.120
  • understood describing Hell.
  • 00:21:51.150 --> 00:21:55.130
  • He said, "It is like Gahenna.
  • 00:21:55.160 --> 00:21:58.240
  • Where there is," -- and you've heard this phrase,
  • 00:21:58.270 --> 00:22:00.210
  • which you might not know where it came from,
  • 00:22:00.240 --> 00:22:03.010
  • "Where there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth."
  • 00:22:03.040 --> 00:22:10.200
  • These young boys and girls would be so afraid and in so much pain
  • 00:22:10.230 --> 00:22:18.120
  • they would weep and wail and gnash their teeth
  • 00:22:18.150 --> 00:22:22.250
  • together while they were burned alive.
  • 00:22:22.280 --> 00:22:27.080
  • And Jesus said, "I'm trying to tell you the best I can
  • 00:22:27.110 --> 00:22:33.180
  • about this place, so you don't go there.
  • 00:22:33.210 --> 00:22:39.140
  • Now I want to give you a ludicrous illustration.
  • 00:22:39.170 --> 00:22:43.030
  • It's ludicrous.
  • 00:22:43.060 --> 00:22:45.110
  • If you were to drive home today and your neighbors
  • 00:22:45.140 --> 00:22:48.080
  • house was on fire, what would you do?
  • 00:22:48.110 --> 00:22:52.040
  • We'd all do the same thing.
  • 00:22:52.070 --> 00:22:54.030
  • We would immediately call 911.
  • 00:22:54.060 --> 00:22:57.040
  • And if it were safe to do so we would enter the house
  • 00:22:57.070 --> 00:23:00.280
  • to try to see if anyone was still in the house.
  • 00:23:01.010 --> 00:23:04.000
  • The reason I said this is ludicrous is none of you
  • 00:23:04.030 --> 00:23:07.260
  • would see your neighbors house on fire and pull into
  • 00:23:07.290 --> 00:23:11.070
  • your garage and have the thought,
  • 00:23:11.100 --> 00:23:13.100
  • "Someone else will tell them."
  • 00:23:13.130 --> 00:23:16.230
  • Someone will tell them."
  • 00:23:16.260 --> 00:23:18.260
  • And even this thought maybe.
  • 00:23:18.290 --> 00:23:20.170
  • And I don't mean this in a joking way, but listen we
  • 00:23:20.200 --> 00:23:23.250
  • wouldn't have the thought, "Oh, I'll just pray for them."
  • 00:23:23.280 --> 00:23:26.080
  • And I believe in prayer.
  • 00:23:26.110 --> 00:23:27.260
  • I believe in prayer.
  • 00:23:27.290 --> 00:23:29.000
  • That's the first step when it comes to witnessing
  • 00:23:29.030 --> 00:23:30.120
  • is praying.
  • 00:23:30.150 --> 00:23:31.260
  • But the second step is that you got to tell them.
  • 00:23:31.290 --> 00:23:34.260
  • You know, Romans 10 says, "Whoever calls on the name
  • 00:23:34.290 --> 00:23:37.010
  • of the Lord will be saved." But how can they call on Him
  • 00:23:37.040 --> 00:23:40.000
  • whom they've not heard?
  • 00:23:40.030 --> 00:23:41.060
  • And how can they hear unless someone tells them?
  • 00:23:41.090 --> 00:23:43.260
  • We have to tell them.
  • 00:23:43.290 --> 00:23:45.210
  • So, hear me.
  • 00:23:45.240 --> 00:23:47.190
  • Your neighbors house is not on fire, but your neighbor is.
  • 00:23:47.220 --> 00:23:55.010
  • If he doesn't know the Lord according to the Bible,
  • 00:23:55.040 --> 00:23:59.140
  • he will go to a place of fire and a place of torment
  • 00:23:59.170 --> 00:24:04.100
  • for all eternity.
  • 00:24:04.130 --> 00:24:06.240
  • PASTOR ROBERT: I know that this is a very difficult
  • 00:24:06.270 --> 00:24:08.140
  • subject to talk about, but I want to remind you
  • 00:24:08.170 --> 00:24:11.110
  • that God did not create Hell for human beings.
  • 00:24:11.140 --> 00:24:15.220
  • He created Hell for angels that rebelled against Him.
  • 00:24:15.250 --> 00:24:19.270
  • And yet because of the choices that we've made we could
  • 00:24:20.000 --> 00:24:23.200
  • be on our way to Hell.
  • 00:24:23.230 --> 00:24:25.030
  • But here's the good news because of a choice
  • 00:24:25.060 --> 00:24:28.040
  • that we can make we can be on our way to Heaven.
  • 00:24:28.070 --> 00:24:31.150
  • You do not have to go to Hell.
  • 00:24:31.180 --> 00:24:33.110
  • You can go to Heaven by simply accepting Jesus Christ
  • 00:24:33.140 --> 00:24:38.110
  • as your Lord and Savior.
  • 00:24:38.140 --> 00:24:40.170
  • Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins.
  • 00:24:40.200 --> 00:24:43.200
  • We could never pay for our own sins and yet he did that.
  • 00:24:43.230 --> 00:24:47.060
  • And it is a free gift.
  • 00:24:47.090 --> 00:24:49.010
  • Salvation is a free gift from God.
  • 00:24:49.040 --> 00:24:52.050
  • And you could receive Jesus Christ right now.
  • 00:24:52.080 --> 00:24:55.130
  • Just tell him right now while I'm talking.
  • 00:24:55.160 --> 00:24:57.050
  • Tell him, "Jesus I receive you as my Lord and my Savior."
  • 00:24:57.080 --> 00:25:02.050
  • And if you did that we would love to hear from you.
  • 00:25:02.080 --> 00:25:05.140
  • And we would love to send you some material that will help
  • 00:25:05.170 --> 00:25:08.110
  • you in your new life with Jesus Christ
  • 00:25:08.140 --> 00:25:11.200
  • as your Lord and your Savior.
  • 00:25:11.230 --> 00:25:14.210
  • Thanks for watching.
  • 00:25:14.240 --> 00:25:16.020
  • I'll see you next time.
  • 00:25:16.050 --> 00:25:17.200
  • ANNOUNCER: Have you ever wondered what Heaven
  • 00:25:18.240 --> 00:25:19.260
  • will be like, or who really goes to Heaven?
  • 00:25:19.290 --> 00:25:23.090
  • Maybe you've found yourself asking questions like,
  • 00:25:23.120 --> 00:25:25.240
  • "How could a loving God send anyone to Hell?"
  • 00:25:25.270 --> 00:25:28.270
  • "Is Hell even a real place?"
  • 00:25:29.000 --> 00:25:30.220
  • "How do I know I'm going to Heaven?"
  • 00:25:30.250 --> 00:25:33.180
  • In today's popular culture, people have plenty of opinions
  • 00:25:33.210 --> 00:25:36.120
  • when it comes to questions like these,
  • 00:25:36.150 --> 00:25:38.100
  • and some of the more common opinions are both confusing
  • 00:25:38.130 --> 00:25:41.050
  • and contradictory.
  • 00:25:41.080 --> 00:25:43.040
  • The good news is, we don't have to rely on popular opinion,
  • 00:25:43.070 --> 00:25:45.250
  • or even our own thoughts or fears
  • 00:25:45.280 --> 00:25:47.190
  • to answer these questions.
  • 00:25:47.220 --> 00:25:49.250
  • We can find the answers to these and many other
  • 00:25:49.280 --> 00:25:51.210

  • us continue to share God's word in homes
  • 00:26:39.070 --> 00:26:41.120
  • throughout the world.
  • 00:26:41.150 --> 00:26:42.280
  • 00:26:43.010 --> 00:26:47.080
  • 00:26:47.110 --> 00:27:01.180
  • JIMMY EVANS: You are the firstborn of God,
  • 00:27:01.210 --> 00:27:03.130
  • and you have the right of the double portion,
  • 00:27:03.160 --> 00:27:05.210
  • and it's time for the firstborn church of God to arise.
  • 00:27:05.240 --> 00:27:09.190
  • PASTOR ROBERT: When pride gets reversed in your life,
  • 00:27:09.220 --> 00:27:11.240
  • you immediately step into God's plan for you,
  • 00:27:11.270 --> 00:27:14.010
  • and you also step into God's provision for you.
  • 00:27:14.040 --> 00:27:16.180
  • SAMUEL RODRIGUEZ: We are not those that will just survive,
  • 00:27:16.210 --> 00:27:19.050
  • we're gonna change the world because we will do nothing
  • 00:27:19.080 --> 00:27:22.020
  • less in the name of Jesus Christ than thrive.
  • 00:27:22.050 --> 00:27:25.070
